The Pass-or-Refund Guarantee
We are a new company with no wall of reviews to point at, so we will put our money where our mouth is instead. If you buy Impulse Test Prep, genuinely study with it, sit your National Registry exam, and do not pass — we refund 100% of what you paid.
What you get back: the full purchase price, to your original payment method.
What it costs to ask: nothing. No restocking fee, no partial credit, no store credit.
Applies to: the $29 Founding Member purchase and every per-level purchase (EMR, EMT, AEMT, Paramedic).
The conditions, in plain English
A guarantee with no conditions isn’t a guarantee, it’s an invitation to abuse. These are the four things we ask, and we have deliberately chosen conditions we can actually verify from your own study progress rather than ones we would have to take on faith or argue about.
- You bought a paid license. The free tier is free; there is nothing to refund.
- You actually studied. Before your exam, in the app and at the level you sat:
- you completed at least two full-length mock exams, and
- you answered at least 500 different questions.
- You sat the exam and did not pass. You took the NREMT exam for the level you purchased, within six months of your purchase, and did not receive a passing result.
- You tell us within 30 days. Email [email protected] within 30 days of your result, from the address on your Impulse account, and attach your official NREMT result notice.
What happens next
We check your progress against the conditions above and refund you to your original payment method. Refunds are typically issued within five business days; how quickly it appears on your statement is up to your bank. Your account then returns to the free tier, where you keep 300 practice questions, the full reference library, and the cardiac-arrest simulator, forever.
The fine print, stated plainly
- One refund per person. This is a guarantee, not a rental.
- Accounts are for a single individual and may not be shared (see our Terms). Purchases used on shared credentials are not eligible.
- We refund what you paid us. If you upgraded between levels, that means the total of your purchases for that level.
- If you bought through Apple or Google in a future app-store release, their refund process governs that purchase, not this page.
- We may ask a clarifying question before issuing the refund. We will not ask you to jump through hoops.
What this guarantee is not
It is not a promise that you will pass. Nobody can promise that, and any study product that does is lying to you — passing the National Registry exam depends on your preparation, your program, your clinical experience, and the exam itself. Our Terms of Service say plainly that we do not guarantee any examination or certification result, and that remains true. This is a commitment about your money, not about your score. If our product doesn’t do its job, you shouldn’t be out the price of it.
Why we offer it
Most exam-prep subscriptions respond to a failed exam by extending your access — which means you keep paying them. We charge once, so we can do something cleaner: give the money back. It also keeps us honest. If our questions and rationales don’t prepare students, we feel it directly.
